My research combines the fields of soil science, microbiology, and ecology to address and understand ecosystem level processes in natural and managed landscapes. I aim to elucidate how soil microbes interact with each other, the soil matrix, plants, and the ecosystem as a whole. Through field and laboratory based experiments, my research focuses on interactions among soil dwelling fungi and bacteria, the ecology of mycorrhizal fungi, nutrient cycling, and biogeochemical processes.
